Men’s Group
The Men’s group consists mainly (but not exclusively!) of men from the congregation of St. Giles’ church. We always welcome new faces!
We meet usually at 7.30 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of the month in the small meeting room of St Giles’ Community Hall in Main Street, Balderton.
The subjects are wide and varied. During the year we hold a number of evenings at the Hall with guest speakers usually illustrated with slides or videos; recent subjects have been Canada, Egypt and The Galapagos Islands. We try to have at least one evening with trains as the subject which is always very popular. We also have a coffee/tea break during these evenings. If the speaker/subject is of wider interest, we may open the evening up to other members of St Giles’, using one of the larger rooms as required. Subjects planned for the coming year include a presentation by a local archaeology group, an illustrated talk about The Iron Curtain and Berlin and an account of a walk for charity along the long-distance path, The Dales’ Way.
